Beach Fun with the Fam

A couple of weeks ago, my family stayed with us at the beach. We had such awesome time with them and enjoyed having all the kids! Aden LOVED hanging out with his cousins and it was amazing how we didn't even have to take care of him all weekend long. He was so busy playing with everyone and he just had a blast having everyone to play with! We did lots of walking on the beach, climbed the sand & rock dunes and played in the tide pool. We hope to see everyone more often and get together again!

The girl in the chariot

Kadence is enjoying the Chariot more and more as she gets a lot bigger. She would fall asleep immediately as soon as we start moving. I'm sure she'll use it as much as her brother did (which we still stick him in there when we need to, although he's getting too big for it!)

Similarities?

Do they look alike even though their skin tones are so different?!!

Not a bad shot for a 3-year old

Aden insisted on taking our picture and it turned out ok...

She's no ugly duckling...

I may be biased but she's one cute duck!

Busy Summer

We've been super busy this summer...lots of stuff going on. Seems like we've been on the go and the bags are constantly getting packed and unpacked! Weekends has been filled with lots of trips to the beach and lots of great activities. Darin has even commented that we're pushing the kids to the max! Luckily, they're adapting very well and has been enjoying the adventure. Here's some of what we've done so far:
Camping at Ft. Stevens with the Andersons:
Zoo with Friends:
Lots of boating and surfing:

There's no signs of slowing down for us until maybe in October! I'm tired just thinking about it...

Swimming class

We took advantage of the free week of swimming classes and met up with Karly, Tristan & Kaia. Tristan and Aden took the classes together and had a great time. We only got to do the classes a couple of days that week due to our busy schedule...definitely be signing up for more classes since Aden had a blast!
Kadence enjoyed being outside and watching her brother swim.

Father's Day weekend

We spent Father's Day weekend at the beach with the Seteras. It was a fun weekend - lots of walks to the beach, playing in tide pools, hiked up the dune, basking in the sun and great company. Nancy & I stayed up way too late each night, the boys didn't have a chance keeping up with us! The kids had a great time as usual. We were lucky to have great weather and we topped it off by having dinner outside at the Pelican on our way back home and enjoyed the sun even though it got a bit chilly towards the end of the day!

Fun in the river

Since we weren't busy enough for the weekend, we decided to take the boat out and headed to W'ville and hung out with the Carusos. Had a great time on their dock and enjoyed the time on the boat. Kadence let us know that she likes a certain type of speed: fast! As soon as the boat stop moving, she wakes up and starts crying. The faster we went, the harder she slept! We're in so much trouble! It was a beautiful day and very hot! We were having so much fun, we didn't get home until 10:30 at night! What a busy weekend!

Jumping off the dock:

Multnomah Falls

With the great, hot weather we've been having, we decided to go for a hike at Multnomah Falls. Aden was really excited to see the falls again, so we decided he'll like to see the "top" of the falls. This is the first real hike we've taken him to, and although 1 mile doesn't seem that much of a hike for us, for a 3 year old, it is. Especially when it's going uphill! The poor guy was so amazing, he didn't really complain about being tired until 3/4 of the way up! We gave him the option of turning around and head down without seeing the top of the falls, but he didn't want that. Darin had Kadence with him and I was not about to carry Aden. So he dug deep and made it to the top. He was amazing, I couldn't believe he hiked uphill for 1 mile! On the way down was easier, although he complained of being tired and wanted us to slow down. Thank goodness for Curious George, we talked about episodes of George to keep him occupied and it worked! He is such an amazing guy, we're so lucky! Kadence slept through it!

He made it to the top!

Fun Friday

We've been enjoying having Darin home on Fridays, hopefully he continually has Fridays off for the entire summer. Having 3 full days with him and the kids have been fun and eventful. Last Friday, we went on a bike ride from the waterfront all the way to Oaks Park. I tow Kadence in the chariot (I can't believe she's big enough for that already!) and we recently bought Aden a tagalong bike. He loves riding behind daddy and he pedals the entire time! A lot better for long rides (and faster!) than having him ride on his own bike with training wheels. After our bike ride, we went to the water park in NW and hung out for a couple of hours. Here's a few shots of the kids "talking" to each other while we were waiting for Darin outside a coffee shop. Precious!!
